Ali Yalçın, Chairman of the Memur-Sen Confederation, made evaluations about the 6th Term Collective Agreement process, which millions of public officials are eagerly waiting for and will start in August.
Yalçın stated that there will be an important process for the financial and personal rights of public officials in August.
Stating that public officials have experienced economic losses in the last two years, "The 6th Term Collective Agreement is a good opportunity to compensate for the economic losses of public officials. The public employer should see the expectation in the society and take into account that the social cost will be more than the cost of the raise for public officials," he said.
Underlining that the increase in inflation and the fluctuation in the dollar exchange rate affect fixed incomes the most, Yalçın said, "Public officials are suffering economic losses. The will of Memur-Sen in the previous collective agreement and the correctness of his attitude towards the agreement are clearly understood at the point we have reached. Now, in the upcoming period, the public employer should compensate for these losses and sit on the table by taking into account the economic indicators."
