Memur-Sen Confederation held a press conference in 81 provinces of Turkey to protest the decrease in the purchasing power of civil servants in the face of increasing inflation and the rising cost of living and before the collective bargaining agreement to be started in August.

ANNOUNCED INFLATION SHOWS THE CIVIL SERVANT'S GRIEVANCE

Making the press statement in the Ankara leg of the action, Ali Yalçın, President of the Civil Servant-Sen Confederation, stated that the announced June inflation rates are an indication that the civil servants have succumbed to inflation.

"The inflation figures announced today, on the eve of the 6th Term Collective Agreement, once again proved that the account at home does not match the market, so to speak. When we look at the inflation figures of the last 18 months, it will be seen that there is a deviation of 3 times the targeted inflation and more than 2 times the increase in salaries and wages. Doesn't such a big deviation reveal the wrongness of the policy of remuneration over the targeted inflation?" he said.

"The determined hike evaporates before the month of March"

Yalçın, who demanded the establishment of a growth-oriented system instead of an inflation rate-based update, "The public servant is the power of the state, not its burden. The officer cannot be expected to watch while everything is raised. We want a percentage increase in line with the facts, an increase in compensation for past losses, and a share of the welfare of civil servants from growing Turkey. The raise determined by the public employer evaporates before March. This is exactly why we have expressed and will continue to demand a raise, not less than 10% of the lowest civil servant salary, under all conditions and conditions," he said.

HERE ARE THE REQUESTS OF THE CIVIL CERVANTS

Yalçın listed his demands at the end of his press release as follows:

"We want a share of welfare. We want a 10 percent raise. The primary employment in the public sector should be permanent. The Auxiliary Services Class should be abolished and the personnel should be transferred to the General Administrative Services Class. The promise of 3600 additional indicators must be fulfilled. Family allowance should be increased and retirees should be included in this scope. Religious holiday bonuses should be paid to civil servants. Additional payment rates should be increased. The degree-level limitation should be removed. Civil servants should be given the right to strike and politics."
