Two soldiers were martyred in a PKK terrorist attack in southeastern Sirnak province of Turkey on Friday, a security source said.
Two other soldiers were wounded when the terrorists launched an attack on Andac gendarme command in Uludere district, the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media, told Anadolu Agency.
The injured were airlifted to Sirnak State Hospital via helicopter.
Meanwhile, an operation is underway to apprehend the terrorists in the region.
Separately, two terrorists were killed during an operation in Cukurca district of neighboring Hakkari province on Thursday, according to the statement issued Friday by Turkish General Staff.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July last year.
Since then, more than 600 security personnel have been martyred and over 7,000 PKK terrorists killed.
