Cleaning efforts continue in houses and workplaces damaged by the flood caused by heavy rain in Istanbul.

Following the heavy rainfall in the city, many houses and workplaces were damaged by floods in Arnavutköy, Başakşehir and Küçükçekmece.

Damage assessment work is being carried out at İkitelli Masko Mobilyacılar Sitesi, one of the points that suffered major damage.

While the tradesmen participating in the work with the teams bring the mud-soaked furniture to the front of the shops, some of them load it into trucks and carry it from there.

Some tradesmen also clean their shops with their own means. Municipal teams are cleaning the grates in the block where the flood occurred. The teams also support the tradesmen in their cleaning work.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT WORKS CONTINUE IN KÜÇÜKÇEKMECE

While houses and workplaces damaged by the flood in Küçükçekmece were evacuated, damage assessment studies continue.

Residents of buildings living on the lower floors of 3. Sakarya, Türkmen and 1. Kırlangıç streets in Atatürk District took out their belongings damaged by the flood.

In the area where a single-storey house by the stream has become unusable, cars damaged by the flood are being removed by tow trucks.

While the mud formed by the flood on the streets was cleaned by municipal officials, police and municipal teams closed the area around the stream with a security strip.

Teams continue to work at Halkalı Customs Directorate, one of the points most damaged by the flood.

The teams are trying to lift the overturned cargo containers with the help of cranes, while continuing their damage assessment and cleaning work.

While the flood-affected areas in Arnavutköy were generally cleaned the day before, some citizens whose houses were submerged in water were also cleaning yesterday.
