A congress decision was taken six months ago by the Felicity (Saadet) Party Muğla Ortaca District Presidency. The Congress was held on 29 August 2021 with the participation of Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Cafer Güneş.
Two weeks before the congress, on August 14, Ortaca District President Ömer İkiz had an accident as a result of a pickup truck hitting their vehicle from behind while traveling with his family. In the accident that happened, President İkiz had fractures in his waist. President İkiz, who was taken to emergency surgery the next day of the accident, was discharged ten days later. When President İkiz was discharged, his doctor had said that he should not straighten his back in any way for three months and that he should only do small exercises at home. After that, the family members of the president and the members of the Muğla Ortaca Saadet Party Board of Directors suggested to the president to postpone the congress immediately.
President İkiz, who wanted to attend the congress no matter what and exhibited an example of settling on this path, "Which congress has Erbakan Hodja put forward, I will take it. I will go to that congress whether it is on a bed or in a wheelchair, if necessary, I will go with my coffin. If I don't say as Erbakan Hodja says I can't stay at home while the earth slides under our feet, what will I say in the presence of God tomorrow if I don't act like Erbakan Hodja? I will attend this congress no matter what," he said.
NO OBSTACLES RECOGNIZED FOR THE CONGRESS
President Ömer İkiz was brought to the congress with a wheelchair on the back of the vehicle that came in front of his house on the day of the congress. The words that President İkiz said to the congress presenter, evident from his facial expression, is a sign of devotion to the cause.
