The final declaration of the "Turkish Construction Industry Workshop" organized by the Confederation of Construction Contractors (IMKON), an important organization in the Turkish construction industry, is shared with the public. In the declaration, which stated that the negative developments in the economy in recent years have greatly affected the construction sector, the statement said, “The exchange rate increases and the subsequent developments in the economy have caused exorbitant price increases in the domestic market, and the exorbitant price increases have deeply affected the construction sector and brought the contracting sector to a standstill, and the sub-supplier sector that has reached near to 250 levels, has also suffered serious damage from these developments.”
“ESTABLISHING A CHAMBER IS ESSENTIAL”
In the declaration, which lists the developments in the economy and the demands, a remarkable demand came to the fore. In the declaration suggesting the establishment of the Contractors' Chamber, the following was noted:
“As the Turkish construction sector; professional structural problems arising from the administration, solving the problems arising from the classification of building contractors and in the name of sectoral structuring, it has become essential to establish the 'Contractors Professional Chamber', which will represent the Turkish Construction industry.”
