It does not suit Muslims to celebrate New Year's Eve on a night that Christians regard as a holiday.

Our nation, which has served Islam for centuries, is faced with the danger of Christmas, where alcohol is consumed like water, gambling is at its peak, and adultery is experienced in all its forms.

While it is not befitting for conscious individuals to prepare to celebrate Christmas even though they are Muslims, a Muslim stance is of great importance on this night when corruption and haram will reach the peak.

While Christmas, the holiday of the Christian world, does not mean anything sacred for Muslims, it is noted by the scholars that celebrating Christians' holiday is an element that puts faith in danger.

Although there is no place for Christmas and New Year's celebrations in our religion, the date of January 1 has no value other than the beginning of an official and international calendar.

While it is known that the new year begins with the month of Muharram in the Islamic world, it is necessary not to get involved in haram and corrupting on January 1, which is celebrated as the so-called New Year's Day.

In this context, it is a great necessity that the 90th verse of sorah al-Maide should not be forgotten.

Allah (swt) in the 90th Verse of Sorah al-Maide, "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone altars [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful," He says.

A PART OF CULTURAL IMPERIALISM

It is a great example of unconsciousness to celebrate a holiday in the Western geography, which is the cause of these atrocities, while blood, tears and oppression do not cease in the geographies where Muslims live.

It is also important for our cultural independence not to be a prisoner of New Year's celebration activities, which are one of the cultural exploitation tools of Western imperialism.

Celebrating New Year's Eve, which is a Christian custom, gathering together, celebrating this night with alcohol, gambling and inappropriate entertainment, which are forbidden by our religion, are seen as strictly forbidden.

Cutting down thousands of pine trees every year on the pretext of New Year's Eve and reaching the peak with various expenditures are other drawbacks.

In short, no matter what material and spiritual aspects one looks at, it is obvious that celebrating this night as New Year's Eve does not suit a conscious Muslim.

OUR PROPHET MOHAMMAD HAS A WARNING

There are various warnings of Islamic scholars in order not to experience the disgrace of New Year's celebrations in Anatolia, which carries the seal of Islam.

Saying that it is not appropriate for Muslims to celebrate Christmas under the name of New Year, scholars remind us of the hadith of our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”

A MUSLIM SHOULD NOT BE INVOLVED IN THINGS THAT DO NOT FIT ISLAM

The members of the Religious Affairs High Council of the Presidency of Religious Affairs answered the questions of the citizens about the New Year's Eve celebrations.

A producer, who received orders for a pine tree and Santa Claus decorated cake for New Year's celebrations, asked, "I didn't know whether to do it or not. Should I cancel the order?" Fatih Mehmet Aydın, Expert of the Supreme Council of Religious Affairs, answered the question as follows:

"It is not permissible to use or support something that is prohibited by Islam. Christians can celebrate their own feast. Wherever they get it, a Muslim should not act to help them with their Christmas and should seek his sustenance from elsewhere. It is not permissible for a Muslim person to sell or serve a product that is not Islamic and contrary to Islamic values."

“LOTTERY IS HARAM, NEVER BE HALAL”

Idris Bozkurt, member of the High Council of Religious Affairs, asked the question “whether it is haram or halal to participate in the National Lottery or by buying a ticket”.

"We can never say that it is halal. Lotteries, lottery, lotto, toto, winning horse, betting games, all within the scope of gambling. Gambling is definitely not a halal way of earning," he answered.

Answering his question about the buying and selling of alcohol and other haram products, Fatih Mehmet Aydın, Expert of the Supreme Council of Religious Affairs, said, "Islam has forbidden alcohol. This is certain. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to buy, sell or mediate alcohol."

THE CONQUEST OF MECCA TO BE CELEBRATED ALL OVER TURKEY

While the error of celebrating Christmas (New Year's) is committed tonight, there will be a beautiful event in our country.

The Conquest of Mecca programs, organized every year by the Anatolian Youth Association (AGD), will be held all over Turkey this year as well.

In addition to speeches, the programs will include many rich content such as Quran recitations, cinevision and stage shows.
