Constitutional provisions bind everyone

President of the Constitutional Court Zühtü Arslan said that the constitutional provisions are the rule of law that bind the legislative, executive and judicial organs and administrative authorities.

An oath ceremony was held in Constitutional Court (AYM) Supreme Court Hall for İrfan Fidan, who was elected as a member of the Constitutional Court.
 
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop, Vice President Fuat Oktay, Supreme Court Chairman Mehmet Akarca, Minister of Justice Abdul Hamid Gul, Chief Public Prosecutor Bekir Şahin, the Supreme Election Board Chairman Muharrem Akkaya, President Metin Feyzioğlu Union of Bar Associations of Turkey, the supreme judicial members and many guests attended the ceremony.
 

CONGRATULATED FİDAN

 
President of the Constitutional Court Zühtü Arslan, deputy presidents and new member İrfan Fidan welcomed the guests at the door. 
 
Speaking at the ceremony, AYM President Arslan congratulated Fidan. Reminding that those who use the state authority started their duties by promising before the nation that they will protect the Constitution, Arslan drew attention to the common values ​​that form the spirit and identity of the Constitution.
 
Emphasizing that the concept of freedom in terms of individual expresses having fundamental rights and freedoms, Arslan stated that the main purpose of the Constitution is to guarantee these rights and freedoms that individuals have inherent.
 
Referring to the concept of freedom in social terms, Arslan noted that the Turkish nation defended its freedom and independence at the expense of its life with the last 15 July resistance.
 

"THE RECEPTION RATE INCREASED TO 112 PERCENT"

 
Pointing out that the Constitutional Court is one of the competent organs that use sovereignty according to the Constitution, Arslan said that a new period has entered in the Constitutional judiciary with the individual application that has been implemented since September 23, 2012.
 
Arslan described the individual application as "an important reform and achievement in the legal system" with the effort of President Erdogan and the will of the nation.
 
Pointing out that the individual application has been successfully implemented in our country, Arslan stated that in the last four years, an average of 40 thousand individual applications have been made to the Constitutional Court on an annual basis, and that more applications have been received incomparably with the number of applications accepted by the Constitutional Courts in Europe.
 
Arslan stated that the current number of pending applications is approximately 40 thousand and the court has finalized the application until the application made in the last four years. He explained that, despite the Covid-19 pandemic last year, the Constitutional Court decided on 45 thousand individual applications, thus the rate of meeting the incoming application increased to 112 percent.
