Hüseyin Öztürk, Chairman of the Agricultural-Forest Workers Union (Toç-Bir-Sen) affiliated to Memur-Sen Confederation, stated that they expect the regulation on ‘recruitment of contracted personnel’ to be implemented as soon as possible and that all problems arising from employment diversity will be resolved.

“WE EXPECT IT TO RESULT ASAP”

Öztürk, who called for the work to start as soon as possible regarding the decision to recruit the contracted personnel taken in the 6th term collective agreement, which was accepted in the latest, stated that the issue should come to the agenda of the Assembly as soon as possible. Öztürk said, “The staff employed under contract in the public sector are eagerly waiting for the good news of the staff. As it is known, studies are carried out between the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and our Memur-Sen Confederation for the recruitment of contracted employees as required by the collective agreement of our Memur-Sen Confederation. We, as Toç-Bir-Sen Union, with our reports and evaluations which we contribute, look forward to the immediate conclusion of the staff work.”

“CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYMENT MUST BE ENDED”

Expressing that they expect the issue to come to the fore with the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Öztürk underlined that the work carried out in different statuses in the same job disrupts the business peace and said, “The employment of contracted and permanent public employees working in the same institution, in the same room, side by side, does not give them different rights despite doing the same job. It disrupts the work peace and shakes it deeply. It is not fair for children to be separated from their parents, lack of job security, social and personal rights according to their employment status, and it is not a manageable and sustainable system. Therefore, the good news for our contracted public employees should come as soon as possible, all contracted employees should be included in the staff, contracting should be buried in history. As Memur-Sen Confederation and Toç-Bir-Sen Union, our demand and stance are clear. Contracted employment should be terminated.”
