Health workers serving on missions of cleaning, food, emergency services, security, data entry etc. in hospitals, are very worried that the case increases will escalate again and rapidly after the short-term relief regarding the pandemic period announced as of March 2020.

“NIGHTMARE LIKE DAYS CLOSE”

Making a statement on the subject, Devlet Sert, Chairman of Öz Saglik-Is Union, stated that they were concerned that the expected increase in cases in the autumn would decline to the summer months and that the rate of increase would continue with a rapid acceleration, and said, "The feedback we have received from health workers and members working in hospitals across Turkey is not sufficient. It shows that if precautions are not taken, nightmare like days are near. The increase in the number of patients in the reopened Covid services and intensive care units worries health personnels as well as all health workers.”

“NEW MEASURES SHOULD BE ON THE AGENDA”

Sert continued his statement as follows: “While the pandemic has taught us and the measures on how to protect ourselves are obvious, this rapid increase in the number of cases stands as a harbinger of a return to the nightmare like days. As healthcare professionals, we reiterate the call for common sense to our people. If we don't take our own precautions, it's easy for us to return to the most severe conditions of the pandemic and lock the health system. We expect all authorities, especially the Ministry of Health, to bring new measures to the agenda before it's too late," he added.
