Nurullah Geriş, which has a fruit market booth in the historical Tuesday Bazaar in Aydın's Efeler district, started to provide shopping opportunities to its customers with credit cards. Geriş, which has increased its business with the pos machine it has put into use at its booth against its customers who have difficulty in purchasing cash due to the price increases in fruit and vegetable prices, has provided convenience to the citizens as well as in the markets. Stating that citizens are not accustomed to seeing pos machine at vegetable and fruit booths and that they were very surprised when they saw the 'credit card valid' sign on the booth, Geriş said, "Our customers love shopping with cards."
“EVEN MORE IMPORTANT IN REGARDS TO HYGIENE”
Noting that most of their customers have seen this application for the first time, stallholder Nurullah Geriş said, “Many of our citizens no longer prefer to carry cash. With the coronavirus pandemic, this situation has become even more important in terms of hygiene. Due to the increasing prices, market customers generally go to the bazaar to buy fruits and vegetables. In order not to lose customers and to provide convenience to our customers, we purchased a pos machine and put it into practice. Most of our customers state that they are satisfied with the application. Although we have only just started this practice, we have started to experience an increase in our business.”
THEY ARE SURPRISED TO SEE THE POS MACHINE IN THE FRUIT BOOTH
Stating that they were surprised to see the pos machine on the fruit booth, which they are accustomed to seeing in the shopkeepers who usually sell on clothing, in the neighborhood bazaars, the citizens who shop with credit cards stated that the application should expand whole bazaar booths and said, “It has been a good example of entrepreneurship. They said that it is more practical to shop with a credit card instead of carrying cash.”
