Diyanet-sen reacted to the electricity cuts in mosques due to electricity bills in many provinces, especially in the Eastern regions.

Making an assessment on the subject, Diyanet-Sen Chairman Mehmet Ali Güldemir underlined that the electricity cut in mosques is a shame, "Freedom of worship of our citizens cannot be hindered by using electricity bills as an excuse. Mosque electricity should be given immediately and the bill barrier in front of the freedom of worship of our citizens should be removed.

MOSQUES MUST HAVE ELECTRICITY

Güldemir criticized the electricity cuts in many mosques in the East and Southeast regions due to the electricity costs of the mosques due to heating and cooling, "This practice, which brings the community and electricity companies against each other, should be abandoned immediately, and all electricity expenses, including heating and cooling expenses of our mosques, should be covered from the general budget. It is a shameful situation for our country to cut the electricity of mosques built with the money of citizens. This practice, which brings our mosque officials and electricity companies against each other, and makes citizens suffer, should be abandoned immediately and our mosques should be powered," he added.
