The purpose and importance of D-8, which was established with the great effort of the Prime Minister of the 54th Government, Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan, is better understood when we look at the situation in the Islamic countries.
 
It was stated that the D-8 project, which has been suspended until today, is standing before us as a recipe. In the 10th Summit Meeting of the D-8 Organization, the term presidency was transferred to Bangladesh. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who attended the meeting with a live link, said in his speech that D-8 is a recipe for salvation. Erdogan listed what the D-8 should do one by one. "TRADE VOLUME IS MUCH FAR FROM THE REAL CAPACITY"

 
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who attended the 10th Summit Meeting of the D-8 Organization with a live connection, made evaluations about the cooperation between the member countries in his speech. Stating that despite the geographic fragmentation, the D-8 Organization benefits from high capacities such as human and natural resources, energy reserves, complementary economies and the entrepreneurial private sector, "Current trade volume between D-8 countries is far from real capacity. Channels should be established in the field of customs and banking for the development and facilitation of trade between members. Accordingly, suggestions such as the D-8 credit card and clearing system may be useful," he said.
 

"10-YEAR ROAD MAP" ACCEPTED

 
At the 10th Summit Meeting of the Developing Eight Countries (D-8) Organization organized online, hosted by Bangladesh, the "2020-2030 D-8 Ten-Year Road Map" was accepted and a statement regarding the meeting was published.
 
D-8 countries, consisting of Turkey, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria and Pakistan, aim to make the organization stronger and more developed with the D-8 Decade Roadmap accepted at yesterday's summit. At the Developing Eight Countries (D-8) meeting, it was decided to develop the trade volume and to act jointly on issues such as anti-Islam, racism and discrimination.
 
WHAT IS D-8?
 
The D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization was established on 15 June 1997 by the leader of National Vision and Prime Minister of 54th Government, Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan. They came together under the leadership of Turkey, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria and Pakistan to form the D-8s. The six stars in the flag of the D-8s symbolize their basic principles.

PURPOSE
 
The purpose of the establishment of D-8 is to develop trade relations between eight countries representing a great economic potential, various resources, a wide population and geographical area, to increase participation in the decision-making process at the international level, and to strengthen economic cooperation around concrete joint projects.
