Death toll rises to 90 in bomb car attack in Somalia

​In the car bomb attack that carried out at checkpoint Saturday morning in Mogadishu, the Somali Capital, death toll has risen to 90, including 4 Turkish engineers and 7 police official, the local officials said.

More than 70 people also were wounded in one of the deadliest attacks in Mogadishu in recent memory.

"I was informed the death toll stands over 90 including 17 somali police officers, 73 civilians and 4 foreign nationals. May Allah have mercy on the victims of this barbaric attack," said Abdirizzak Mohamed, Member of Somali Federal Parliament, in a statement on Twitter.

Children were among the wounded as well as several university students who had been traveling in a bus, the local officials said.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.
