Denis Becirovic, who was elected as a Bosniak member of the Presidential Council in the elections held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday, October 2, gave harsh messages to the separatist Serbian leader Milorad Dodik as he prepared to take over the post. Becirovic described Dodik's statements, which recently targeted him and made provocative rhetoric about the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as irresponsible and illogical. Reminding that Dodik has caused many crises in the last 4 years when he was a Serbian member of the Presidential Council, Becirovic said, “The result of such irresponsible policies is the impoverishment of the people. Let's bring development and justice to all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina instead of discussions and tensions.”
DODIK'S FIGHT POLICY IS NOT IN THE BENEFIT OF ANYONE
Stating that the solution to the crises in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not fight and conflict, Becirovic said, “People and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have irreversibly lost the last 4 years with the illogical statements of Milorad Dodik. The result of such a policy is demographic deterioration in government institutions, poor and inadequate health care system, increased crime and corruption, international isolation and economic crisis. None of this is in the interest of Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats or others. I invite Milorad Dodik to cooperate for the common good of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We cannot change the past, but we can work for a better future for Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
"LET'S BRING DEVELOPMENT AND JUSTICE TO ALL PARTS OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA"
“Politicians should help the people by not creating more conflict, instability and distrust. I will not allow ourselves to be dragged into meaningless fights and conflicts that do not benefit the citizens in any way. The real problem of people in our country is not what Dodik thinks of Becirovic or what Becirovic thinks of Dodik. The real problem for disenfranchised people is how to look at the current crisis issues in the country and how to get out of them. There are many challenges ahead of us on this road. Instead of debates and tensions, let's bring development and justice to all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Becirovic added.
DODIK PERSISTENT IN CONFLICT LANGUAGE
Mlorad Dodik, who was accused of stealing votes in Bosnian Serb Republic, one of the two entities affiliated with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and was exposed to an intense wave of protests by the opposition, had recently made statements targeting Denis Becirovic in order to distract the domestic public. “Becirovic is worse than SDA leader Bakir Izetbegovic. I look forward to his takeover because, as I said before, he will contribute to the disintegration of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Becirovic presidency,” Dodik said.
