While the reactions towards the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), which has been taking a break frequently in recent days, have increased, it has also revealed the position that the Presidential Government System has brought to the TGNA. The Covid-19 pandemic was cited as the reason why TGNA went on vacation for the 3rd time in the last 40 days.
NO DRAFT LAW WORK!
The parties with a group in the TGNA had previously agreed, and after the completion of the New Year's holiday, the first half of the 2021-2022 academic year, they went on vacation twice in 20 days. This time, the parties paused the work of the Parliament for the 3rd time in 40 days, using the Covid-19 pandemic as an excuse. The Parliament, which will take a break from legislative work for 11 days, will resume its work on February 15. The real reason for the suspension of these works is shown as the lack of a quorum for the meeting and the absence of any draft law studies. The frequent recess of the Parliament caused reactions from the citizens. In particular, critiques about the breaks indicated that the Presidential Government System has rendered the TGNA dysfunctional, gained more support.
