While addressing the participants, Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) President Salih Turhan said, “Praise be to our organizations, they are the places where martyrdom-loving youth are raised. We are making these programs to live like a martyr. I associate martyrdom with sacrifice. It is good to ask for martyrdom, but we must live like a martyr. The Martyrs' Night program organized by the Anatolian Youth Association Istanbul Branch University Commission (4 Faculty) was held on Thursday evening at the Prof. Dr. Adem Baştürk Cultural Center. The program, which started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, continued with the speech of Head of 4 Faculty, Muhammet Yakup Yücedağ. Yücedağ, in his speech, said, “Martyrdom is the highest level that can be reached after prophecy. We will try to commemorate and understand the braves who obey the call for martyrdom. We are a community working to eradicate oppression and exploitation on earth. We see it as the greatest honor to breathe the last for Allah.”

“WE SHOULD LIVE LIKE A MARTYR”

Addressing the participants in the Martyrs' Night program organized by the 4 Faculty, Anatolian Youth Association President Salih Turhan gave examples from the lives of the martyrs, "We, as Istanbul university organizations, have been performing Martyrs' Night programs for 21 years. Praise be to Allah, our organizations are places where youths who love martyrdom are raised. We are making these programs to live like a martyr. I associate martyrdom with sacrifice. It is good to ask for martyrdom, but we must live like a martyr. To be martyred, it is necessary to live like a valiant," he added. After Turhan's speeches, the program continued with a theatrical performance and ended with a raffle where various gifts were presented.

"AS LONG AS WE KEEP THE SPIRIT OF MARTYRDOM ALIVE, WE WILL NOT BE DEFEATED”

Mehmet Yaroğlu, Head of AGD Istanbul Branch, also addressed the participants in the Martyrs' Night program. Giving examples from the Palestinian resistance in his speech, Yaroğlu said, “Global powers are occupying Islamic countries one by one, They pollute the chastity of our Muslim sisters; They are destroying the underground and aboveground resources of Islamic societies with the help of collaborative governments, and corrupting their crops and generation. But despite all this, they fear a handful of communities over there. The reason why they are afraid of us here is not our own people, just like in Gaza, there is a Gaza city under the ground, the same meaning of martyrs under the ground here, and they are afraid of this meaning, thank Allah. As long as we keep the spirit of martyrdom alive, we will not be defeated in any way," he said. AGD Headquarters University Commission Chairman Nurullah Güngör also emphasized the importance of martyrdom in his speech. Güngör, in his speech, said, “Our elders who were martyred never took shelter behind excuses. They constantly went forward and did not deceive themselves. We should imitate these habits of our martyrs.”
