Unemployment and poverty scenes continue to increase from all over the country, where unemployment figures are announced by TURKSTAT at low levels. A citizen named Hasan Kılıç, who lives in Şanlıurfa, has beaten cancer in 2016 but has not been able to overcome unemployment for a long time. Kılıç, the father of two children who cannot work under severe conditions due to health problems, recently traveled around the city in hopes of finding a job despite the cold weather and snowfall. Returning home empty-handed, Kılıç learned that his electricity was cut because he could not pay the bill. Hasan Kılıç, who wants a job, not NGO aid or food parcel, told Milli Gazete about his troubles.
Unemployment, which has become a chronic problem in Turkey, leaves citizens helpless. Although Hasan Kılıç, who lives in Şanlıurfa, recovered from cancer in 2016, he has not been able to find a cure for the trouble of unemployment for a long time. Recently, despite the snowfall, Kılıç, who almost walked the whole city in hopes of "finding a job", learned that his electricity was cut off because of the "unpaid" bill when he returned home. Kılıç, who wants a job instead of dressing measures such as "NGO assistance" and "food parcel", summed up the striking reality that millions live, but not seen/shown persistently, with the words "Desparation and poverty are difficult".
The economic conditions that have lasted for a few years and have exceeded the crisis state both decrease the purchasing power and make it even more difficult to make a living. This situation becomes even more challenging for millions of unemployed people who have no income and cannot build their future.
Hasan Kılıç, who lives in Şanlıurfa, has been suffering from unemployment for a long time, despite surviving his cancer in 2016. Kılıç, who had to quit his profession, kebab, due to health problems, said, "I have been struggling with unemployment for a long time. I left the house early in the morning the other day. I traveled all over the city to find work in snowy, cold weather. I could not find a job. I came home in the evening, hungry, thirsty, with empty hands. Our electricity was cut off in the middle of this winter. I did not pay the bill, they cut off the electricity due to the delay".
"I WANT A JOB, NOT A HELP BOX"
Saying "Desperation and poverty are hard" Kılıç said, "I have always been incapable of expressing my process of despair, unemployment and poverty. I am directed to Şanlıurfa Organized Industry, but I cannot work in heavy working conditions because my health conditions do not allow. The places where I apply for a job do not want to hire me due to my health problem. When I express them, they direct them to NGOs and philanthropists. I do not want to get along with the aid boxes of NGOs. I just want work. I want to work and support my family. I want to build a good life for my children, I want to teach them".
