Öz Sağlık-İş Union Chairman Devlet Sert noted that families have come to the point of disintegration due to the ban on assignment of workers who have been transferred from subcontractors to staff, and that most workers have been working away from their children for years. Sert said, “Such an application does not fit into the justice.”

Speaking at the 1st Ordinary General Assembly of the Union's Ardahan Branch, Chairman Devlet Sert said that workers who have been serving in the same institution for 10-15 years, after transitioning to staff, are deprived of the right to be appointed because of the prohibitive article in the Decree No. 696.

“PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE SOLVED FROM THE ROOT”

Sert continued his words as follows: “At the beginning of the problems produced by the Decree Law No. 696 is the ban on appointment. Consider that our friends who have been serving in institutions for years, some of them have been working for 10-15 years. Now he becomes member of staff with 696, but he does not have the right to appoint. Families are separate, husband-wife-children are separate. Having this ban is inequality. This ban is unfair. It doesn't fit the scale of justice. This need resolution. As a union, we are working day and night for this. Workers doing the same job or working in the same institution experience such problems because of the difference in status. We think that this injustice, which also harms business peace, will be eliminated with an egalitarian approach,” he added.
