For years they rotted elbows, they could not find job opportunities in their fields after graduation, and many of them are unemployed.

Unemployment is a big problem in Turkey, youth unemployment is an even bigger problem. Among the unemployed young people, whose number exceeds 2 million 506 thousand, 750 thousand are university graduates. On the other hand, the number of university graduates who cannot find jobs in their fields but have to work as shop assistant, courier, waitress and call operator is increasing. Young people who explain their problems to Milli Gazete and cannot find a job in their field are tired, hopeless and unhappy with the future.
 
In Turkey, the number of unemployed young people exceeded 2 million 506 thousand, and approximately 750 thousand university graduates cannot find a job. On the other hand, the number of university graduates who cannot find jobs in their fields but have to work as policing, shop assistant, courier, waitress, call operator, sales consultancy is also increasing. The university graduates, who have been victimized by the economic crisis, low placement quotas, and the insecure environment in the private sector, are hopeless for the future. Teachers, health technicians, graduates of economics and administrative sciences, sociologists, dieticians, engineers who could not find jobs or be appointed in their own fields talked to the National Gazette and expressed their problems.
 

"MY HOPES FOR THE FUTURE ARE FAILING EVERY DAY"

 
Dialysis technician Beyza Akyüz, who graduated in 2015 and stated that she has been unemployed for nearly 6 years, said “I cannot perform my profession. The dreams I dream and my hopes for the future are ruined every day.” 
 
İlyas Biçer, who graduated from the Department of Sociology in the Faculty of Science and Letters, said,“ I am a father of a daughter and my wife is an unassigned mathematics teacher. 50 people are appointed from a department with more than 120 thousand graduates” he said.
 
Dialysis technician Beyza Akyüz, who graduated in 2015 and stated that she has been unemployed for nearly 6 years, said, "I cannot perform my profession. My dreams and hopes for the future are being destroyed every day. In the private sector, I cannot find job opportunities for my field. "I feel tired at my young age because of unemployment." 
 
Another dialysis technician, Halit Ertaş, stated that he entered the KPSS 3 times and was never assigned, and said, "I was never appointed although I got high scores to be appointed. I graduated in 2016 and have been struggling with unemployment for 4 years. Despite the promises given to us, the 20-person staff opens up like a joke. Is this how dialysis technicians will be employed?"
 

"WE WANT 60,000 NEW APPOINTMENTS"

 
Graduated from the Faculty of Islamic Sciences as a teacher of religious culture and ethics, Yusuf Zencirkıran said, “Unassigned teachers have been waiting for an appointment for months. There is no longer a struggle that we did not do in social media or in the field. I want to see ahead and put my life in order. "I want to appoint 60 thousand teachers in our country, where there is a shortage of 138 thousand teachers." Stating that he has been working in private schools for 6 years and earning his living with private lessons, M.Ş. “I no longer hope to be appointed. I also got very high scores from KPSS, but still could not be assigned. I have many teacher friends whose psychology is deteriorated during every appointment process. "Sometimes I regret that I went to university."
