A warning came from retired Rear Admiral Cihat Yaycı regarding the government's diplomatic contacts with Greece.
Cihat Yaycı, in his statement on his social media account, said following words:
"Those who do not know that the world is round; Those who cannot understand that Türkiye and Libya, Gaza and Israel are mutual shores; who are too lazy to even read national and international agreements on this subject; unaware of maritime law; We see that some active and retired bureaucrats, who cannot show it on a map when given a coordinate, use the Blue Homeland as a part of the Hegelian dialectic. The Greek demand puts the Seville map aside as a thesis and puts the Blue Homeland as an antithesis against it, approaching politicians who have the ability to manipulate, like the devil approaching from the right side. They start the conversation by stating that they accept that the Seville map is a utopia, but they also state that the Blue Homeland is maximalist, as if it were a self-criticism. At the back doors, they propose bargaining with Greece as a compromise and solution proposal in response to thesis and antithesis, a new map, or an agreement on how to share resources as a synthesis. They consider getting out of the Antalya Bay in this way a success and try to make politicians share their plans."
“GIVING UP MEANS COLLAPSE FROM THE HEAD TO BOTTOM”
In the continuation of his statement, Yaycı said, "What is put forward to you today by these bureaucrats as a compromise is no different from the proposals to move the capital to Kayseri and give up on Istanbul, just like during the War of Independence. Just as the will of the nation said no to this proposal then, it is also able to say no today. As a matter of fact, this answer was given by signing the Maritime Jurisdiction Areas Limitation Agreement with Libya on 27 November 2019. Blue Homeland is our nation's national pact on the seas. It should not be subject to any mind games or bargaining tables. It is one of the stakeholders that our great nation embraces and follows as a whole. It has been prepared under the most minimal conditions, let alone maximalist, based on fair sharing and in accordance with all the principles of international law. Making changes to even one corner of the Blue Homeland, or giving up even a drop of it, which is avoided even by talking about reconciliation and solution, means complete collapse. We think that this is the ultimate goal, knowingly or unknowingly. If the active and retired bureaucrats in question are going to use a map in their antithesis, we present to them our map, which is on our opposite coast with Tunisia, prepared with the maximalist logic of Greece. We hope that if they examine it, they will see how our Blue Homeland was created with a rational reality and that there is no other way for both parties."
