Asad al-Nawajeha, one of the doctors of the hospital's neonatal unit, said in a statement to AA correspondent.
"We are faced with a tragic humanitarian story repeated in the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli bombardments," Nawajeha said.
Nawajeha stated that a pregnant woman named Raneem Hejazi was brought dead to Nasser Hospital yesterday morning.
"The fetus was removed from the mother's abdomen by medical personnel and was found to be alive. We immediately received it, brought it back to life and did what was necessary. He's currently on oxygen in the incubator," Nawajeha added.
Doctor Nawajeha stated that the baby's health condition is stable. Stating that the mother went to Khan Yunus in the south of Gaza city to protect herself from the Israeli bombardment, Nawajeha stated that she was killed there in the Israeli bombardment targeting the Al-Abadila family.
Israel had called for those living in the north of the Gaza Strip to go south, claiming that it was "safe", but Israeli warplanes continue to target many houses in the south.
