The U.S. dollar gained value against the Turkish lira, trading near 3.30 on Wednesday morning and the prices of gold climbed rapidly exceeding 1,300 dollars per ounce against the Turkish lira as the ounce increased 3 percent as Republican Donald Trump advances with enough votes to be the United States President.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was sharply down Wednesday to open at 74,561.69 points.
The index was down 1,806.10 points, or 2.37 percent, after the second transaction of the day. The banking and holding sector indexes advanced by 2.46 and 2.13 percent respectively.
All sector indexes lost value. The textile, leather sector fell the most, down 3.85 percent.
