Saadet Party Adana Women's Branch made a press statement on the occasion of Domestic Goods Week. Adana Women's Branch President Mine Göktaş said in the press release, “Domestic Goods Week is a special week celebrated between December 12-18 in all schools across the country, where the importance of being a frugal and conscious consumer is explained. Domestic goods; means all kinds of goods grown and produced in the country, and with the Domestic Goods Week, domestic production and consumption are supported and encouraged. Production is an activity related to consumption and consumption is an activity related to production. Because without production, there is no income, and without income, there is no consumption. Domestic production and consumption are of great importance in the development of a country. If a country cannot produce domestically, it is either foreign-dependent or a candidate to become a foreign-dependent country. When there is no domestic production, the country needs to supply its consumption needs from outside, and thus it becomes a foreign-dependent country over time.”
ERBAKAN HODJA ATTACHED GREAT IMPORTANCE TO DOMESTIC PRODUCTION
Mine Göktaş said, “Our late teacher Necmettin Erbakan has always supported domestic production and thus wanted to show what Turkey can do. For this, he established the Gümüş Motor factory and many other factories. In 1982, he explained that Turkey would be among the top 10 countries in the global supply chain and global economy by increasing production in industry and agriculture by 100 percent in order to ensure that it would be one of the 5 largest countries in Europe, and this would be a major move. Milli Gorus has always been in favor of domestic production and has taken many steps in this field.”
“AGRICULTURE IS A NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE”
Saying “agriculture is now a matter of national security in today's world!” Göktaş added, “Ensuring our food security and safety is of vital importance. But unfortunately, the importance of agriculture and the value of our farmers are not well understood by the government, especially in our country today; Necessary support is not provided. Unfortunately, today our farmer can no longer even pay his debts. He is forced to sell his tractor, land and livestock. Even if the government does not, we know the value of our farmer's labor; Even though the government ignores it, we, as the Saadet Party, understand very well the vital importance of agriculture and production. For this reason, it is our top priority that our country becomes a self-sufficient country in agriculture again.”
TURKEY WILL RISE UP UNDER SAADET PARTY'S POWER
Enumerating the moves to increase production during the Saadet Party's rule, Mine Göktaş concluded her statement with the following words: “This is why we, as the Saadet Party; We will facilitate access to cheap and quality food. We will focus on agricultural policies that will increase Turkey's food production. We will increase our agricultural production capacity with short, medium and long-term plans and projects, taking into account the population size and needs.
