CHP Ankara deputies Bülent Kuşoğlu and Yıldırım Kaya visited the Chamber of Drivers and Automobile Craftsmen in Ankara Polatlı.
During the visit, the problems of the drivers were mentioned, and it was pointed out that the tradesmen became unable to work in the face of increasing costs. The call for support against the costs of the tradesmen came to the fore.
“THEY HAVE TO REFLECT THE INCREASES ON THEIR PRICES”
Making a statement after the visit, CHP Ankara Deputy Bülent Kuşoğlu pointed out that the tradesmen were in a difficult situation as a result of the hikes.
"After the successive chain hikes, a big dilemma arose. On the one hand, the chauffeur shopkeepers, and the shopkeepers in general, have great problems with fuel price hikes. When they reflect these on their costs, which they have to, large price differences occur. It's not easy to come up with these numbers," he said.
Stating that the shopkeepers make sacrifices, CHP Deputy Yıldırım Kaya called for a reduction in prices to the government.
"The shopkeepers in Polatlı are making sacrifices for themselves. Just as you give diesel to those who own yachts and boats at the cheapest price, give diesel to this trucker and serviceman at a cheap price. The solution is very clear. Give the same opportunities that you provide to businessmen traveling on those yachts and making touristic trips, at the same price as you give to your children's boats, to the shuttle drivers who are the light of our eyes and transport our children," he said.
“SHIPPERS HAVING HARD SITUATINS AGAINST COSTS”
Emphasizing that the driver tradesmen are in a difficult situation within the scope of increasing costs, Polatlı Drivers and Automobile Association President İsmail Tarhan said, "We are a tradesmen's chamber of 1,500 people. Polatlı is the district where 36% of Turkey's onions are exported. There is a commodity exchange in Polatlı. We have 8, 10 flour factories. The tradesmen who export flour and wheat all over Turkey and transport stones to the Trakya cement factories of the Temelli region are in Polatlı. That's why Polatlı is so important. Polatlı transport is in a very difficult situation. A vehicle going to Istanbul pays 420 TL on the state highway. We crossed the Bosphorus Bridge, 310 TL, our exit is 330 TL. The money spent in the industry for the inspection of a truck is approaching 10,000 TL. We pay a fee of 650 TL for the examination. That's a very high number."
“OUR MANDATORY INSURANCE IS 8-12 THOUSAND TL”
Noting that truckers also have difficulties with compulsory traffic insurance prices, Tarhan emphasized that the payments made by a truck for compulsory traffic insurance have also increased, "Traffic insurance for a truck is between 8,000 TL and 12,000 TL; With the traffic insurance of a truck, the cost of motor insurance is between 20-25 thousand TL. Because of this, we are in a lot of trouble. We are loading loads from here, we will arrive in İzmir, 2 TL hike has come for diesel. We are loading goods from Izmir, we will come to Ankara, our transport tradesmen are in a very difficult situation due to another 2 TL raise. However, we have no intention of closing contacts or taking action. It didn't happen, and it won't. We have always stood by our country, our nation," he said.
