The Moroccan Ministry of Internal Affairs shared updated information about the earthquake that occurred on the night of September 8.
In its statement, the Ministry stated that the number of people who lost their lives in the magnitude 7 earthquake, whose epicenter was in the Al-Huz region of Marrakech, increased to 2,497 and the number of injured increased to 2,476.

Military vehicles and construction equipment are being dispatched to the earthquake region for search and rescue efforts that started after the 7 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Morocco.
Military vehicles, which set out in convoy to support the ongoing search and rescue efforts in the town of Amizmiz, which is 30 km away from Al-Huz, the epicenter of the earthquake that caused destruction in many cities in the country, arrived in the region.
Work continues with search and rescue dogs to reach those trapped under the rubble of houses in the destroyed Central District of Amizmiz.

Saudi Arabia decided to establish an air bridge and send a search and rescue team to deliver relief materials to Morocco, which was hit by the earthquake.
According to Saudi Arabia's official news agency SPA, King Salman bin Abdelaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the sending of a search and rescue team to Morocco and the establishment of an air bridge to deliver various aid materials.
King Salman Aid and Humanitarian Studies Center President Abdullah bin Abdelaziz al-Rabia noted that search and rescue teams from the General Directorate of Civil Defense and medical teams from the Saudi Arabian Red Crescent will be sent to Morocco.
On the other hand, Oman announced that a rescue team and emergency aid would be sent to Morocco.
According to the country's official news agency ONA, Oman's Sultan Haytham bin Tariq ordered a search and rescue team and emergency aid supplies to be sent to Morocco.
