Although 16 days have passed since the earthquake disaster, the tents have not been fully sent to the regions where the earthquakes were effective.

For this reason, citizens who have to stay in their homes are afraid of new tremors.

As a matter of fact, 6 citizens lost their lives as a result of 6.4 and 5.8 earthquakes in Defne and Samandag districts of Hatay.

The effects of the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake disaster still continue.

Although 16 days have passed since the disaster, it is seen that the urgent need for tents in the region is still not fully met, and the eyes are turned to the relevant institutions.

Aftershocks continue in Hatay, where great destruction occurred in many districts, especially in Antakya, due to the earthquake.

On Monday, 6.4 magnitude tremors occurred in Defne district, and 5.8 magnitude tremors occurred in Samandag district just three minutes later.

According to official statements, it is warned that aftershocks, which caused the death of 6 of our citizens, may continue in the region.

Despite all this, citizens who want to be protected from the cold weather brought by the winter season in Samandağ and Defne districts have to spend the night in their homes because they cannot find a tent, although it is risky.

While this situation causes the buildings to face the danger of collapse in the region where aftershocks continue, it is stated that loss of life may also occur.

6,000 TENT SENT TO THE PLACES WHICH HAD AFTER SHAKE

While the topics such as the delay of search and rescue activities and the late arrival of the aid materials sent to the earthquake victims are still on the agenda, thousands of citizens took to the streets after the aftershocks in Samandağ and Defne.

While the tent needs of the citizens who spend the cold weather on the street are not met, it has been announced that the number of tents sent by AFAD to the region is 6 thousand.

It was a matter of curiosity that tents were not sent despite the 16th day in the district, which has a population of more than 100 thousand and 700 buildings were destroyed.

NEED IN EARTHQUAKE ZONES CONTINUES

The need for tents continues in other regions affected by the earthquake.

Since the first day in Adıyaman and Kahramanmaraş, thousands of earthquake survivors spent the night on the streets in the first days of the earthquake.

While it is seen that the relevant institutions, which could not ensure coordination in the regions where the need for tents are delayed, gradually sent tents to the earthquake zones, it is seen that there are still not enough tents.
