Ebru Asiltürk, Chairwoman of the Women's Branch of Saadet Party, made striking statements about the agenda, especially the problems faced by women, at the press conference held on March 8, International Women's Day.

Speaking at the press conference held in the headquarters of her party, Asiltürk started her speech by drawing attention to the fact that March 8 International Women's Day was symbolized by the tragic incident that caused the death of 120 women workers in 1857.

"It is the day of the martyrs' mothers who sacrificed their most valuable asset"

Asiltürk underlined that they see March 8 as the date of an uprising, "At the end of the last 164 years, the current order that we are in today oppresses and exploits people, and almost enslaves all humanity. Why did I remind you of this historical fact? March 8 is the struggle for women's rights. It is a struggle for labor, it is a struggle for justice. March 8 is the day of women who are "wrapping tobacco in a factory". March 8 is the day of women who work in agriculture as the heaviest workers but have no personal rights. March 8 is the day of women whose labor is exploited in textile factories. March 8 is the day of women who are exposed to violence. March 8 is the day of mothers who are waiting for their son to return home from the army with a pigeon timidness. 8 March is the day of the mothers of martyrs who sacrificed their most precious wealth for their country, for their homeland," she said.

"A TOTAL STRUGGLE MUST BE CREATED"

Asiltürk emphasized that women's suicides, murders, violence and abuse cases are one of the deepest wounds of this country, "As Saadet Party, we are ready to do whatever falls upon us in order to prevent violence against women. It is our greatest desire to take this problem with holistic approaches and to eliminate it from the root. I am calling out to all political parties from here; All political parties should come together on violence against women, and a collective struggle should be put forward by reaching social consensus. Because the fight against violence against women is "our human duty." We cannot limit violence against women only with physical violence. In addition, psychological violence and economic violence are issues that women are victims of. In order to prevent violence, the state is trying to take measures with “panic button”, “guest houses”, “Stop violence against women: "Alo 183 saves lives" projects. However, statistics show that despite the measures taken, laws passed, international conventions and awareness raising of women, violence is increasing day by day," she added.

POLITICS, ECONOMY, CIVIL SOCIETY WILL BE LACK

Underlining that women have a great share in the construction of society, Asiltürk, "As a mother, as a teacher, doctor, engineer, journalist, writer-illustrator, scientist... As a worker in the factory, a peasant in the field, a tradesman, a tradesman, a business woman, a manager in the market... Apart from all kinds of neighborhood pressure, women who put forward freely and authentically are the most important factors that will shape a better future. As the last word; We know that there is no obstacle that our country cannot overcome with the courage, resilience and sacrifice of our women. And again we know that life, politics, economy and civil society without women will be incomplete," she said.
