Confederation of Public Servants Union (Memur-Sen) Commission for the Disabled, which continues its activities within the body of Memur-Sen, demanded that the SCT exemption limit applied for disabled individuals be increased and that the arbitrariness in other practices should be stopped.

Memur-Sen Commission for the Disabled brought up the issue of exemption from SCT of individuals with disabilities and made a written statement. He demanded that new regulations be made on the subject.

In the written statement made by the Memur-Sen Commission for the Disabled, it was stated that the lower limit of the SCT exemption applied to disabled individuals was insufficient due to the economic fluctuations experienced all over the world and in our country.

"It has made financial access to medical devices such as prostheses and orthotics almost impossible. At this point, although the changes made in the Health Implementation Communiqué were met positively, they could not fully meet the expectations and did not alleviate the burden of the disabled. Due to the SCT limit applied in our country, there are great problems in automobile purchases, which have become a necessity due to the problems experienced by our disabled citizens in the use of public transportation, and urgent access to health institutions or other vital channels. Considering the fact that there are no vehicles suitable for the use of the disabled within the limits, the condition of not being able to be sold for 5 years, and especially the special requirements of our wheelchair citizens (large luggage, etc.), the limit determined for the SCT exemption granted to the disabled in the current situation is insufficient," the statement said.

“LIMIT APPLICATION ON SCT EXEMPTION OF THE DISABLED”

It was stated that there was a need for a new change and regulation in the SCT amounts in the meetings held with the Ministries, and it was stated that in line with the demands, the removal of the limit application in the SCT exemption of the Disabled or the determination of the upper limit on a fair amount would be a positive result.

In the continuation of the statement, "It is observed that the vehicles within the limit stipulated in the legislation are given random prices by going beyond the SCT exemption application, as the handicapped people have to buy the last vehicles in their possession with the claim that there are "not enough vehicles in the market", and this situation should be prevented," it was added.
