Although there is no cure for any of the citizens' problems, new ones have been added to the frequently announced economic packages.

While a new one of the packages is sent to the parliament, the package includes scheduled natural gas, civil servant-retirement increases and a new price regulation for contractors doing business with the public.

Making statements to the Milli Gazete, Prof. Dr. Izzettin Önder said that the government does not care about the poverty of the citizens.

"The packages made by the state are not aimed at eliminating the poverty of the people. The government now seems to think that no matter how oppressed the people are, the economy should improve," he said.

Although there is a need for investment and production plans in Turkey, which has been struggling with the economic crisis for a long time, the ruling party is content with announcing self-declared economic packages.

While the economic packages announced to protect the capital owners could not solve any problems, the ruling party presented a new economic package to the Parliament.

The package also includes a new price regulation for contractors doing business with the public.

"There are also programs in other countries, but no packages announced in succession. In Turkey, the IMF program was established in 2000. It was seated on a track. In the transition period, until 2001, a fixed exchange rate was applied based on TL-dollar with regular exchange rate adjustments. When the economy entered the crisis in 2001, Derviş put the TL into floating lots. Even though the economy seemed to be on its feet with this arrangement, in reality it did not show a healthy development. Foreign resources, which had high interest rates in the first ten years, on the one hand, improved imports by making TL valuable, and on the other hand, relying on the state with the build-operate-transfer or public-private cooperation formula in line with the popular 'governance' view of the period, in order to avoid losses, Garanti entered into profitable business. Thus, companies that do business with the state work as a build-operate-transfer or public-private partnership, and no company makes a loss but makes a profit," he said.

“POVERTY IS THE SIGNAL OF PAYING THE PRICE”

"Under these conditions, the Turkish economy entered a tight situation after the bubble effect of the first period had passed. The impoverishment of the people and the increase in prices are the signals of this shortage and paying the price. Because now we are paying. We make a part of the payment to the outside world due to the use of foreign companies or cash resources, and partly to internal companies in partnership, internal subcontractors or financial resources," he added.

INCREASED EXPORT IS NOT REFLECTED TO THE PUBLIC

Önder stated that the economy does not work with political tools and political discourses.

"Political discourses are different. How can politics affect the economy? The plan can be effective by making a program. But the economy is an organic entity, it does not listen to politics in every field and issue, it reacts in abnormal conditions in the form of price or exchange rate changes or unemployment. The packages that have been announced for a long time cannot be useful to the citizens. Because the income distribution does not improve with the packages. Exports may increase. However, the increase in exports is not reflected to the public, not to the laborer who contributed to the export, but to the profit of the exporter," Önder added.
