Turkey's benchmark stock index fell 0.09 percent to open at 99,180.29 points on Wednesday.
The BIST 100 index started with a 88.98-point decrease while the banking and holding sectors went down 0.11 percent and 0.04 percent, respectively.
At the close on Tuesday, the BIST 100 went down by 0.06 percent to stand at 99.269,27 points, with a total trading volume of 3.4 billion Turkish liras (approximately $962 million).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly decreased to 3.5390 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with 3.5410 at Tuesday’s close.
