The regular weekly group meeting of the Saadet-Gelecek Parliamentary Group was held in Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

At the meeting, Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Sabri Tekir took to the podium at the group meeting with the inflation basket announced by TURKSTAT.

Tekir criticized the figures announced by TURKSTATfrom the podium.

"Are your figures correct, or is the Agricultural Credit Cooperative selling expensive products to the public? Do not play with citizens' baskets, bread and livelihood. Tell us exactly where the prices in your list are valid so that our people can do their shopping there," Tekir said.

Speaking about what happened in Syria, Deputy Chairman of the Saadet Party, Sabri Tekir, reminded that the Saadet Party has been a supporter of dialogue with the Assad administration since the first day, and stated that the government continues to do what it wants.

Noting that humanitarian solutions are being sought to solve the refugee problem, "In fact, what we said years ago is now being understood by the government. The miscalculation in 22 years of foreign policy has returned from Damascus this time. We warn you once again. You should meet with the Syrian administration. You must ensure peace and security at our southern border," Tekir added.

“THE ONLY EXPECTATION IS TO MEET FACE TO FACE WITH SYRIAN LEADER ASSAD AND TO LEARN FROM MISTAKES”

Stating that the government does not have the luxury of making mistakes in foreign policy, Tekir pointed out that Turkey remains in a ring of fire.

"Every conflict in Iraq, Syria, Georgia, Ukraine and Libya deeply affects our country. We learned this through bitter experience. There is no winner in any war. Our country paid a heavy price during this period. Therefore, we recommend a foreign policy that will benefit and contribute to the peace and tranquility of our region. The only expectation is to meet with Syrian leader Assad face to face, rather than through someone else, and to learn from mistakes. Mr. President's recent statements, although late in this context, are considered a positive development," Tekir added.

“INFLATION HAS BREAKED THE BACKS OF MILLIONS OF OUR PEOPLE EXCEPT FOR THE GOVERNMENT AND ITS SUPPORTERS”

Making statements about economic problems, Tekir stated that the economic policies that have been pursued in a vicious circle for years have not brought a solution.

"The Turkish economy, which is held in the grip of interest lobbies, profit centers and partisan business people, is being dragged from crisis to crisis. The fire rising from the kitchens, the poverty shaking the foundations of households, the inflation monster darkening our horizons and our future, have weakened millions of our people, apart from the government and its supporters. The government's game with numbers has increased the burden on our nation's shoulders. The news of the raise, which came right after the 'we succeeded' joy of the esteemed minister, who received a request of gratitude from England, makes it unclear what is intended to be achieved," Tekir stated.

“YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY MAKING 85 MILLION PEOPLE INVISIBLE TO SEE TOMORROW

Reminding the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek's statement that we succeeded, Tekir drew attention to the steps taken by the government.

"We are calling out to the government, if your goal is a minimum wage below the hunger line, yes, this can be achieved. If your goal is to keep millions of retirees waiting in line for cheap bread, yes, you can achieve that too. If you want to increase the number of people positioned somewhere between life and death with a wage that corresponds to half of the hunger line, you achieve this. If your vision is to destroy the middle class, keep civil servants below the poverty line, and provide them with a salary equal to the rental price, you are successful in this too. If your mission is to make 85 million people unable to see the future so that the wheels of interest lobbies can turn, you are succeeding in this. Dear Minister, you know better than us how Türkiye is viewed from London. However, there is one more thing you need to know. It is the deplorable situation of our farmers, workers and low-income earners. It is obvious that this black, unfair and tyrannical system, where nine people get one share and nine people get one, cannot be solved with the wrong prescription you apply," Tekir added.
