Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the week up 0.25 percent at 102,907.73 points with a trade volume of 5 billion Turkish liras ($1.41 billion).

Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the week up 0.25 percent at 102,907.73 points with a trade volume of 5 billion Turkish liras ($1.41 billion).
 
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose to 256.64 points, up from 102,651.10 points at close on Thursday, while the banking and holding sector indices were down 1.05 and 0.05 percent, respectively.
 
Among all sectors, the textile and leather sector index was the top performer -- up 2.14 percent -- while the transportation sector index suffered the biggest drop, losing 1.37 percent.
 
Stocks of Celebi Hava Servisi (CLEBI), which provides integrated ground services at airports, had the best performance of the day with a 6.86 percent rise, while Halk GMYO, a real estate investment trust operating under state lender Halkbank, was the worst performer, with its stocks falling 1.98 percent.
 
The top five traded shares of the BIST 100 were national flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THYAO), private lender Garanti (GARAN), energy and mining company Ipek Dogal Enerji (IPEKE), iron and steel producer Kardemir Karabuk (KRDMD), and mining firm Koza Madencilik (KOZAA).
 
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 3.5590 by 5 p.m. local time (1400GMT) on Friday, down from 3.5650 at Thursday's close.
 
Borsa Istanbul's Gold Exchange index rose 0.26 percent, while the price of gold per kilogram reached 147,200 Turkish liras ($41,510) as of 4.30 p.m. local time (1330GMT) compared to 146,000 Turkish liras ($40,982) at the close on Thursday.
