The BIST 100 rose 0.22 percent -- 235.70 points -- on Thursday, opening at 109,188.43 points.
The banking and holding sector indexes rose by 0.18 and 0.16 percent, respectively.
The mining index was the best performer with a 1.28 percent rise, while the investment trusts sector was the only one to see its index fall, by 0.18 percent.
The market closed at 108,952.73 points on Wednesday after increasing 0.33 percent during the day.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 3.4850 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared to 3.4970 at Wednesday's close.
