Turkey's benchmark index rose 165.18 points on the start of Wednesday's session.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.15 percent to stand at 107,205.85 points.
The banking and holding sector indices rose 0.09 and 0.14 percent respectively.
The telecommunication sector performed best, up 0.97 percent, while the basic metal sector started the day with the biggest drop, down 0.13 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 3.5680 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared with 3.5610 at Tuesday's close.
Analysts said markets would focus on the U.S. Federal Reserve's interest rate and policy decisions due later Wednesday.
