Turkey's benchmark index started the day with a 312.19-point increase to open at 97,853.78 points on Thursday.
On the fourth transaction day of the week, the BIST 100 index rose 0.32 percent.
The banking and holding sector indices climbed 0.39 percent and 0.18 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the metal products machine index was the best performer with a 0.55-percent rise, while the investment trusts sector index started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 0.15 percent.
At the close on Wednesday, the BIST 100 was up 193.96 points or 0.20 percent to reach 97,541.58 points, with a total trading volume of 6.6 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.867 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 3.5280 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared with 3.5390 at Wednesday’s close.
