Discussions on the Teaching Profession Law, which came into force in February, continue.
The Constitutional Court decided to hear the Ministry of National Education and 3 unions verbally in the case of the CHP regarding the annulment and stay of execution of some articles of the Teaching Profession Law.
The unions, on the other hand, stated that the decision was important, and emphasized that it is important to consult the unions and educators during the enactment process of the law.
“THE FASTEST MANAGEMENT OF DECISION-MAKING PROCESS IS A VITAL MATTERS”
Making statements regarding the decision taken by the Constitutional Court, "Türk-Eğitim-Sen" educators union Chairman Talip Geylan pointed out that the decision was correct and emphasized that the process should end as quickly as possible.
"I wish the workers had been listened to in a similar way during the preparation process of the law. As 'Türk-Egitim-Sen' educators union, we will respond to the call of the Constitutional Court and share our views. The problematic aspects of the law, especially the subject of the exam, must be revised. However, I would like to draw attention to one point at this point, as it is known, in the years when the career steps were first implemented, the Constitutional Court canceled some issues after the examination upon the lawsuit filed, and the regulation regarding this was not made for years in the following process. Therefore, considering that we have a short time before us, it is vital that both the Constitutional Court and the Ministry of National Education execute their decision-making processes as quickly as possible. No one has the right to condemn our teachers, as before, to years of uncertainty," Geylan said.
“SHOULD BE INTERVIEWED WITH ALL THE UNIONS”
Stating that the decision given by the Constitutional Court is important, Anadolu Education Union (AES) Chairman Mehmet Alper Öğretici pointed out that the stakeholders were not consulted during the process of making the law.
"The Constitutional Court made an interim decision. This decision revealed that it was a mistake not to consult the stakeholders while preparing the law. It is necessary to come together not only with the 3 unions, but also with other unions. In this way, the articles that teachers lose in value can be removed and the rights of all our teachers can be given," he said.
