While irregular appointments at universities have frequently come to the fore in recent years, the most recent irregular appointments at Batman University caused reactions.
Reacting to the appointments made by the university rector, Educators Union "Türk-Eğitim-Sen" Chairman Talip Geylan called on Higher Education Institution (YÖK).
“WE INVITE YÖK TO TAKE ACTION”
Pointing out that there will be no peace of work and science cannot be produced in universities where favoritism occurs due to affiliation or other relationships, Geylan stated that it is necessary for YÖK and university administrations to take responsibility.
"It is an indisputable fact that our science-producing universities are institutions where all processes are carried out on the basis of merit and on a basis of equity. It is a minimum obligation for university administrations, especially YÖK, to take responsibility and lead to what is right. That rector filled the university with spouses, friends and relatives! We invite YÖK to take action", Geylan said.
