While it was stated that primarily the Teaching Profession Law, financial and personal rights, and status problems await solutions, a call was made for a legal regulation on violence in education.
OCCUPATIONAL LAW’S SCOPE SHOULD BE EXTENDED, DISCUSSION ON EXAMS MUST END
In the statement, which stated that the scope of the Teaching Profession Law, which came into force in February, should be extended, it was stated that the problematic parties of the practice within the scope of career steps was noted to be corrected. While it was stated that the working period should be taken as a basis instead of the exam requirement in practice, “Teachers who have completed 8 years should be given the title of expert teacher, and those who have completed 12 years should be given the title of head teacher. Thus, the discussion of the exam should come to an end,” the statement said.
IMPROVEMENTS MUST BE MADE IN FINANCIAL AND PERSONAL RIGHTS OF EDUCATION EMPLOYEES
Pointing out that the purchasing power of the employees has decreased significantly due to the increases in inflation and the increases in the prices of basic consumer goods, the demand for regulation was expressed against the losses in the salaries of public employees against these problems. The application of interview in the employment of teacher candidates causes victimization among the candidates. For this reason, the interview method should be abolished in decision-making processes regarding teacher appointments,” the statement said.
