Election Law comes to the agenda of the Parliament

The Election Law, which the AKP and MHP have been working on for a long time, is expected to be brought to the Parliament this week. It is stated that with the said bill, the election threshold will be reduced from 10 percent to 7 percent.

The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) continues its legislative work. The Election Law, on which the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) have been working for a long time, is expected to be sent to the Parliament. It is stated that another regulation to be sent to the TBMM will be an emergency judicial package that includes the fight against violence against women and healthcare professionals. The regulation proposal that the AKP and MHP are working on is expected to be sent to the TBMM this week. With the proposal, it is expected that the 10 percent threshold will be lowered to 7 percent, and it is stated that the requirement to form a group in the Parliament will be lifted in order for political parties to enter the elections. Thus, it is aimed to prevent the transfer of deputies.
 

EMERGENCY JUDICIAL PACKAGE IS ALSO ON THE AGENDA 

 
Another regulation to be sent to the Parliament will be an emergency judicial package that includes the fight against violence against women and health workers. In the new regulation, while the penalties for violence against women will be increased, the good behavior reduction will be ended. Deterrence will be essential in punishments. There will also be measures for the perpetrator of violence against healthcare workers. Group meetings of political parties will also be held in the Parliament this week. The leaders will address the deputies from the group podium.
