Muhammed Hamdi, who graduated from the Maktab al-Nawab, which was established instead of the Qadi School, with the first place, also learned literature, philosophy and music with his own efforts.

WORKED TO DEVELOP A MODEL OF CONSTITUTIONALITY IN LINE WITH SHARIA

Muhammed Hamdi Yazır started to defend the constitutional administration in the hope that it would be instrumental in bringing the country to the level of modern science and civilization and became a member of the ilmiye branch of the Committee of Union and Progress, which represents this view.

He worked to develop a constitutionalism model in accordance with sharia instead of a European-style constitutionalism.

After working as a lecturer in Beyazıt Madrasah for 2 years, Yazır entered the first parliament of the 2. Constitutional Monarchy as the Antalya deputy.

Afterwards, he worked at the Shaikh Al-Islam Letters Office and taught logic, fiqh and foundation law in madrasahs.

He was appointed as a member of the notables committee on September 15, 1919, and his scientific rank was promoted to the professorship of the Süleymaniye Madrasa.

After the proclamation of the Republic, the institutions where he was a civil servant were abolished, and Yazır was taken from his house in Fatih to Ankara after he was sentenced to death in absentia by the Independence Court for serving in the governments of Istanbul during the National Struggle.
