Whether there will be an interim increase in the minimum wage in July continues to be on the agenda of millions of minimum wage earners.

While the minimum wage amount remains low due to high inflation in the economy, minimum wage employees expect an interim raise in July, while calls for a raise continue to come from the majority of the society.

With the 49 percent increase in the minimum wage at the beginning of the year, the minimum wage was determined as 17 thousand 2 TL net. Then, it was announced that there would be no interim raises during the year.

Although it is stated that there will be no increase in the minimum wage, employees who are frustrated by inflation reaching 75 percent, increasing hunger and poverty line figures frequently bring their demands for a raise to the agenda.

MINISTER IŞIKHAN: NO RAISE

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, who made a statement regarding the minimum wage, pointed out that the economic data was going well in his statement a while ago and said, "Our thoughts in December continue the same way. Our data on inflation sounds quite good. No interim raises are on our agenda."

However, increasing hunger and poverty figures and inflation figures reveal the situation in the economy.

THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT APPROACHING FOR NOW

Drawing attention to this situation in the economy, the opposition and labor unions are calling for interim raises. The government, on the other hand, continues to maintain its attitude of not accepting an interim raise despite the calls made so far.

However, it is stated that the government cannot remain silent against the calls for raises, and it is expected to take steps on this issue in the coming days. The expectation of a raise in response to the economic problems experienced by employees has strengthened.
