According to the proposal submitted to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, contracted personnel employed to advise the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly will be paid end-of-work compensation. Mustafa Şentop, Speaker of the Parliament, also signed the proposal.
A bill allowing the payment of end-of-work compensation to the personnel employed under contract within the Administrative Organization of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) was submitted to the Presidency of the Assembly. The Bill of Law on Amending the Law on the Administrative Organization of the Parliament, bears the signature of Justice and Development Party (AKP) Tekirdağ Deputy, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop.
END OF WORK COMPENSATION WILL BE PAID
Under the proposal, contract staff employed to assist MPs in their legislative activities; End-of-work compensation will be paid to the contracted personnel employed in political party group presidencies in matters requiring specialization and special information on legislative activities, and to contracted personnel employed to advise the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly in areas related to the activities of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. In the event that the contract is terminated, the conditions for payment of end-of-work compensation to the said personnel and the amount of compensation to be paid will be determined by the TBMM Presidency Council. In the justification of the proposal, it was reminded that, in accordance with the relevant provision of the Law on the Administrative Organization of the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the contracted personnel could not be paid under any name within the scope of financial and social rights other than the contract wage, and no end-of-work compensation could be paid.
