President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.S. President Donald Trump are expected to hold a phone call Friday afternoon.
According to a White House statement, the two leaders will speak at 4:30 p.m. local time.
President Erdoğan and his U.S. counterpart last met in May 16, when Erdoğan and a Turkish delegation accompanying him paid a visit to Washington D.C.
During the meeting, Erdoğan and Trump mainly discussed the U.S.' decision to directly arm terror organization PKK's Syrian affiliate the People's Protection Units (YPG) and the extradition of the Pennsylvania-based controversial imam Fethullah Gülen, who is accused of masterminding the July 15 failed coup in Turkey with his network of followers.
