Turkey-European Union (EU) relations with organs of decision-making at the highest level 54 of the Association Council meeting to be held in Brussels today.
It will be held for the first time after a lapse of nearly four years of political and economic criteria and Foreign Minister of Turkey will be represented at the meeting's Mevlut Cavusoglu, compliance with the EU acquis and Turkey-EU relations will be discussed.
The 54th Meeting of the Association Council established under the Ankara Agreement will be held in Brussels today. In a written statement from the Foreign Ministry, established under the Ankara Agreement between Turkey and European Union (EU) relations with the highest level of decision-making organs of the Association Council meeting of 54 it will be announced today in Brussels.
Approximately 4 year hiatus after the meeting which will be held for the first time, Turkey was represented by Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will participate with Deputy Foreign Minister and President of the EU Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı.
The EU will be represented by Federica Mogherini, the High Representative for Foreign Relations and Security Policy, and Johanneshahn, the European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations. Turkey and the EU side, the meeting met in informal format prior to evaluate foreign policy issues and regional developments. Member countries of the Association Council meeting also will be found representatives of the accession negotiations, political and economic criteria, the harmonization with the EU acquis, visa exemption process, the Customs Union functioning and various aspects of EU-Turkey relations, especially financial cooperation will be discussed.
