Although the government did not take any permanent measures against the rising flour prices, many bakers, whose costs were already high, started to sell bread for 3 Turkish Liras (TL) in Istanbul.
ANOTHER HIKE FOR BREAD
Being desperate against the flour prices, which doubled in 2021, the baker's shopkeepers had to raise the bread price again, with successive hikes in main expenses such as oil, yeast, personnel wages, electricity and natural gas. Citizens, whose backs are bent more every time the news of the price increase, got into a bottleneck with the increase in the price of bread to 3 TL.
