Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati stated that, triggered by the ongoing war in Ukraine, the unexpected price increases in oil prices on a global scale in the past months inevitably affected fuel prices in Turkey in an upward direction.
Nebati pointed out that as a result of these developments, in the last days of June, the liter of gasoline was 27 liras and the liter of diesel was 30 liras.
"It is thought-provoking that those who ignore the global situation and present this as a problem only experienced in our country while these undesirable but necessary rises occur, ignore the recent acceleration in the decrease in fuel prices in our country," Nebati said.
Nebati drew attention to the fact that the aforementioned price decreases were reflected in the fuel pump prices.
"The global easing trend in oil prices since the end of June has been reflected to the fuel prices in our country at the same rate and immediately, as a requirement of our understanding that puts the welfare of our citizens at the center," he said.
MOTORINE IS 25 LIRA EVEN WITH 15 PERCENT DECREASE!
Pointing out that since the last days of June, gasoline prices have decreased by approximately 13 percent to 23.7 liras, and diesel prices have decreased to 25.4 liras with a decrease of approximately 15 percent, Nebati said that the LPG price decreased by approximately 11.6 percent to 10.7 liras.
Minister Nebati stated that additional decreases are expected in fuel prices in the near future depending on the global price formations, "All our works are proceeding uninterruptedly in the direction of maximizing the welfare of our people," he added.
IT WAS SAID "SUMMER WILL COME, PRICES WILL DOWN" BUT…
The writer of a newspaper close to the government, in April, "President Erdoğan states that the cost of fresh vegetables and fruits is due to seasonal effects and exports. He says that with the coming of the summer season, the prices of vegetables and fruits will decrease. ‘As summer comes and crops appear, the price of food products falls. This year, he says, is the year of abundance," he wrote.
Although the summer months have come, there is no summer fruit under 25-30 liras; Onions, which are the fixtures of the tables, are sold for 10 liras, potatoes for 15 liras, and peppers for 20 liras.
