Speaking after iftar meal, the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association (TVHB) Central Council President Ali Eroglu stated that the country's agriculture and animal husbandry problems, especially found in animal imports.
Eroglu criticized the country's point of origin in animal husbandry and reacted to the country's continued animal imports.
Eroglu, "We've got to be a turning point for Turkey breeding of 2019. Existing imports and existing practices will continue or a rooted solution will be put forward in 2019. Otherwise this outward dependency will seem to continue. In the first four months of 2019, importation still continues in a significant amount of meat and animal. If there is still foreign dependency, we need to concentrate on the reasons that make up this phenomenon and eliminate those reasons," he said.
"Livestock breeding point given by the support, public bureaucracy and public structuring stemmed from expressing Eroglu, the impact analysis of support in agriculture," he said.
Eroğlu said that the amount of support given to agriculture should be reviewed. According to the agricultural law, it cannot be less than one percent of the gross domestic product.
"Unfortunately, the agricultural supports have still not reached their 0.5 percent point today. In 2018, the gross domestic product should be 3.7 trillion Turkish Liras and the amount of support to be provided should be 37 billion Turkish Liras," he added.
