The process, which started on August 1, in the collective bargaining negotiations, which concerns approximately 4 million civil servants and 2.5 million retired civil servants, continues.

In line with the determined work schedule, with the classification of the offers of 11 service branches and the preliminary discussion of the proposals for the general public, the negotiation phase was started in the following process.

While entering the critical process in the negotiations, the government is expected to present the first raise proposal for the general public to the contract table today.

If this proposal is not accepted by "Memur-Sen", the government will come to the table with new proposals on August 17 and 22.

If the parties still cannot reach an agreement, an application will be made to the Public Officials Arbitration Board as of August 23. At this stage, the Board will announce its decision on the contract by the end of the month at the latest.

“THIS WEEK IS IMPORTANT FOR THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE MEETINGS”

In his statement, "Memur-Sen" Deputy Chairman Hacı Bayram Tonbul said that the talks that started on 1 August were in a positive atmosphere.

Stating that after the classification and pre-negotiation processes of the proposals, the negotiations started as of the new week, Tonbul said, "According to the work schedule, the government will present two proposals to the table this week. We look forward to the first of these tomorrow. If we do not find tomorrow's proposal sufficient, the government will come to the table with a new proposal on Thursday, August 17th. Therefore, this week is very important for the progress of the talks. The public employer should come to the table with a proposal based on market realities, not inflation targets. Our reasonable demands should be met and the contract should be signed by consensus at the table."

THE UNION WANTS QUARTERLY RISES

Memur-Sen, which is the authorized confederation at the collective bargaining desk, requested an increase of 35% in the first 3 months, 10% in the second 3 months, 15% in the third 3 months and 10% in the fourth 3 months, including the welfare share, for 2024 quarterly periods.

For 2025, the Confederation demanded a 25% increase in the first 6 months and a 15% increase in the second 6 months, including the welfare share, for 6-month periods.
