Farmer lives on without coal in winter!

A blow to the farmer struggling with the economic crisis came from the Agricultural Credit Cooperative. A tough winter awaits the farmer after the sale of coal, which has been abandoned by saying “Is it our job to sell coal?”

With the arrival of autumn, the rush to find fuel for heating in the villages and countryside began. Farmers and livestock producers struggling with the economic crisis and difficult conditions will no longer be able to benefit from the cheap coal opportunity of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives. Agricultural Credit General Manager Hüseyin Aydın, who banned the sale of coal by saying “Is it our job to sell coal?”, had a great reaction. It is curious why the Agricultural Credit Cooperative, which sells 300 to 400 thousand tons of coal every year to citizens who use coal for heating in villages where natural gas does not reach, bans the sale of coal, which provides an average of 200 million Turkish Liras (TL) per year. It has become a matter of debate how the Agricultural Credit, which does not compromise on marketing despite inflation, benefits farmers and livestock producers today.

FARMERS AND BREEDERS HANDLE WITH ECONOMIC CRISIS IN EVERY AREA

The prohibition of coal sales by Agricultural Credit Cooperatives before the winter months caused a fuel rush in the village where there was no natural gas. After the coal sales were stopped by saying “Is it our job to sell coal?”, the farmers and livestock farmers, who were already struggling, were left alone with the economic crisis in every field. The fact that the Agricultural Credit Cooperative, which exists for the development of agricultural production in Turkey and to support the farmers and livestock producers, gave up the sale of coal, which is an essential need of the farmers, was another indicator of the wrong policies implemented in our country.

AGRICULTURAL CREDIT COOPERATIVES NOW USED TO COVER INFLATION

Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, which have been on the agenda frequently in recent years with the debt quagmire that they attract more farmers and breeders than their support to agriculture, are now used to cover inflation. Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, which rapidly increased the number of markets in Turkey, started to trade rather than support agricultural development. On the other hand, even in the most remote corners of Anatolia, farmers and livestock producers who are heated by the coal sold by the Agricultural Credit Cooperative will now have to calculate the high coal costs. It is another matter of discussion why the Agricultural Credit Cooperative, which earned 200 million TL by selling with an average of 300-400 thousand tons of coal per year, made a loss in the market area just to suppress inflation.
